Looking for denture tips and tricks? Start by avoiding these five “tricks” that ruin dentures FASTER than anything else!
Tip #2: Loose denture? A denture reline can help.
When the inside of a your dentures stops fitting your gums well, your dentures get loose. Relining a denture removes the old denture liner and puts a new one in its place. This new liner is custom made to match your gums exactly as they are today. By replacing the lining, a reline helps your denture fit more comfortably and move around less.
Trick #3: Rocking denture? Your teeth may be imbalanced
Does your denture fit comfortably, but gets rocked loose when you bring your upper and lower teeth together? If chewing, biting or bringing your teeth together unseats your denture in a rocking sort of way, there is a good chance that your teeth don’t come together evenly. An occlusal adjustment balances how the teeth come together so that a well fitting denture doesn’t get rocked out of place by chewing. If the teeth have worn out of balance, it can be necessary to replace the worn teeth with new ones before balancing the bite.
